Minimum viewing equipment: binoculars Mu Crucis it's a wide double star, that can easily be viewed with a pair of binoculars 7x50. If you have the chance though, have a look at this star using a telescope. The two stars have the magnitude 4th and 5th, separated by a wide 35 arcseconds angle. Note: This is an extended exposure picture taken with specialised equipment and is likely different from what can be seen through an ordinary telescope. |
