Minimum viewing equipment: unaided eye Ruchbah it is a 2.7 magnitude blue-white star, that lies 45 light years away from us. A faint secondary star revolves around Ruchbah partially eclipsing it. Because of this Ruchbah magnitude is variable, dimming very slightly over a 760 day period. Ruchbah comes from the Arabic Al Ruckah knee, and represents the knee of Cassiopeia. Note: This is an extended exposure picture taken with specialised equipment and is likely different from what can be seen through an ordinary telescope. |
