Minimum viewing equipment: binoculars NGC 7789 is a broad open cluster located between Rho Cassiopeiae and Sigma Cassiopeiae. It consists of over 1000 stars of magnitude 10.7 and fainter in an area half the size of the full moon. This cluster was first discovered by Caroline Herschel (William's Herschel sister and assistant) at the end of the 1700s. Note: This is an extended exposure picture taken with specialised equipment and is likely different from what can be seen through an ordinary telescope. |
