M103 - NGC581
Minimum viewing equipment: binoculars

M103 - NGC581 was discovered by Pierre Mechain in 1781.. It is an open cluster. A better view can be obtained using a 4 inch telescope which is able to resolve many of the fainter stars.

It is not known yet if this cluster is bound by gravity.

Note: This is an extended exposure picture taken with specialised equipment and is likely different from what can be seen through an ordinary telescope.
